I'm excited to see these back on the road - but I probably won't be driving one...
I saw a video with Mike Manley (Jeep CEO) and he said they will be a "premier" addition to the Jeep lineup with prices in line with Range Rover/Discovery models. Fully tricked out they will be in the $100,000...
Agree with HJ - there's great info over on LOSTJeeps.com in the "Love That Torque" section for the CRD's.
What I do know is that the timing belt very definitely should be replaced at 100,000 miles - along with some other components I don't remember. The CRD engine is an "interference" engine...
My new (to me) Commander has a rattle/knock like that in the driver's rear. Can't pinpoint it and I'm getting very irritated. It only happens on very sharp bumps like frost heaves and large cracks. :favorites68:
The KJ has a front end knock - but only in the summer! The past few weeks it's as...
Hey, thanks for the post. I use a lot of the de-icer windshield washer fluid during the winter. Even if it's not terribly cold it does a good job of getting that 'special' winter grime off the windshield.

The winter in Northern California has definitely been 'interesting,' hasn't it Jim? Even lost the Cabin sequoia this week - that's a lot of rain and wind :Insane:

Yep, the Rene has the same transmission as the KL - though I think some changes/improvements were made to it. Shifting is spot on, with no hesitations, jumps or slams. I've been on the KL forums and seen threads questioning if the tranny ever gets to 9th gear - it does on our Renegade frequently...
Agree :waytogo:
My wife's new Renegade has the heated area under the wipers as well - great feature on these icy mornings. The system in that Jeep automatically turns on the heated wipers, heated mirrors, heated seats and steering wheel when the temp is below 32F. She's spoiled

There is a lip on top of the oil pan that catches the oil as it comes off the front main seal. It then runs downhill and backwards toward the rear of the engine until it drips off the rear lip of the pan and onto the structural cover. There's no other place for the oil to come from besides the...
CRAP!
The diffs are loaded with 4.10's and TruTracs, Warn winch. Plus the Moabs...?
Yea, $2K cash in hand and you can do some sweet upgrades to your KJ.

Dang junkman, you're a wizard!!
I have two black Jeeps and one of them has it's fair share of off-road rash, road blast and salt spray from Northern winters. The other is new to my stable and I haven't given it a super-close inspection yet. Would love to have both of them shine like that...
I can almost guarantee the oil pan gasket is NOT leaking. There isn't enough pressure in the pan or the sump area to cause oil to be pushed out between the gasket and the bed plate/block. There are other areas under pressure that will leak first.
As mentioned in the earlier posts the likely...
No, No. My engine is running great. It's just the way John's sig is/was written I wasn't sure if he was selling just the 3.7 or the entire KJ.
Sadly... He's selling the Liberty :icon_cry:
