flip up window. what a pain

Sounds like a worn latch or mayby a dodgy microswitch in the rear handle, mine would spring open randomly in the rain when it started to fail, real treat when your driving along. I unplugged the door handle as a temporary fix.

Jeek KJ 2.8 CRD Limited - Advice Needed

The diff usually howls under load and is silent when you take your foot off. Sadly if it's the diff it's time for a full set of bearings, Check the spider gears too, Mine are shot. Jeep is going to get a set this summer if I get time, I've got an LSD to put in as well so next winter should be fun.

7" Halo LED upgrade on 2003 jeep liberty

Just found these, no idea if they are any good but the shape looks like they are actually made to fit our Jeeps & they have approval markings... debatable if they actually mean anything though! My sanding and 2k clear coat is currently holding up well so I have no plans to change my lights.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Carrying on with the stripping of my parts Jeep. The strength difference between an 8.25 and a 30a is quite obvious when you look at them!

chasing the elusive front end clunk

At that price I'd be buying polyurethane bar and making the bushes or looking for an old man with a lathe who wanted to earn some beer money!

What did you do to your jeep today?

I'd still be looking for the source of the leak, otherwise your just fixing the symptoms. A new Racor filter body would probably sort it out.

chasing the elusive front end clunk

I don't know if they will deliver to the other side of the world but you could try Autodoc, those bushes are £7.97 here! A quick Google brings up this... No idea what's involved in using a forwarding company but it might be worth a look. I'm in the UK so parts aren't as hard to get here but all...

    First Car Help!

Sounds good. You have a daughter like mine, keen to get on with the job. Mine is like my right hand when we are doing jobs at the weekend.

    First Car Help!

Without taking the old head off its impossible to say if it's reusable, you would need to get it cleaned up and put a straight edge on it and see what it looks like + inspect the top of the engine block. If you are lucky it may be down to bad workmanship on the part of whoever put it back...

chasing the elusive front end clunk

Road salt... what a joy! The whole lot is going to be stripped and painted in epoxy before it gets fitted to my other Jeep.

chasing the elusive front end clunk

I'm laying under mine now, the bushes don't look too hard to change out with the arm on but you will have to split the bottom ball joint to get it low enough to clear the crevice off the bush.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Pulled the front diff and driveshafts out of my parts Jeep, amazingly easy, everything just came undone without a fight, it's ready to pull 3 hours after I started & the oil I drained out was clean and golden without any shrapnel. I'm buying a lottery ticket tonight, in must be my lucky day...

02 Power Steering leak - cannot get it sealed

Are they tube nut fittings? If so they might need a backing ring if the inserted pipe is bottoming out before the seal or the nut is running out of thread. If you have the old bits you could measure up and see where the issue is. I wonder if the original o rings were metric and you are trying to...

Jeek KJ 2.8 CRD Limited - Advice Needed

Hello and welcome. I don't know much about the TPMS system, mine hasn't got it. The noise could be a wheelbearing, see if its louder on one corner. If the EGR is stuck open it will affect power and fuel consumption, the light will also come on if the system has been deliberately disconnected or...

    best 2.8 CRD mods???

Yeah, I have 2 as well, 2.5 manual and a 2.8 auto, the 2.5 is slowly giving up parts for the other one, hopefully I'll finish stripping everything I need off it this year and the scrap man can have it, I'm looking forward to getting the drive space and access to my workshop back. All I've done...

    Auto Transmission Dipstick Tube

Scrapyard or Ebay is probably the easiest way, lots of jeeps being broken now, just note that the V6 and CRD have different gearboxes so make sure you get the right one.

    Front differential help

Weird! Are all the bolts and brackets that hold the diff in place all there? Something must have broken to let the diff move like that because it's all bolted to the subframe. To find out what's wrong I'm afraid your going to have to pull it out and probably replace the aluminum housing.

    Front differential help

Has the tube mount failed? It should be clamped to the subframe by 2 lugs.

    lifting back to stock height.

They are an odd size spring, small and close wound with a high rate, I don't know of any other spring that fit except uprated ones built for the Jeep. OME or H&R make lift springs, for off road use don't bother with spacer lifts on old worn out springs. There is loads of information on here...
