You of course are welcome to throw your money away any way you like. Many people outside the kj community think we're all crazy for the time and money we put into these things. But bottom line my friend is you are still gonna need lower ball joints even after you buy all of those things you...
You probably don't need all of those front end parts, just the lower ball joint. If one ball joint popped the other side is likely in need of replacement too. From what you've pictured it doesn't appear that the lower ball joint is included. If I was in your situation I'd replace just the lower...
Post in thread 'What did you do to your jeep today?' https://www.jeepkj.com/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-jeep-today.50782/post-798585 if this link works you can see how I took care of mine.
I believe arb is still the only option and also recently heard it's being discontinued so you best not wait if you want one https://www.jeepkj.com/threads/arb-bumper-discontinued.80063/
I think it was only 3/4 inch, and by this point it has surely sagged quite a bit. If you want minimal lift but a good ride buy the light duty ome springs and new shocks. If you want to go cheap and do it again in a relatively short time frame get some pre-assembled stock rated spring/shocks and...
Good find! You'll want to reuse your original cv axles. Everything else looks like a good plan.
I'm very happy with my spartan helical lsd. Similar in functionality to the dtt, but costs about half the price.
Yerp, and I only mention the rack and pinion bushings because they're often worn out at this age and so easy to replace when the diffrential is out of the way.
The mounting brackets for the front diff are different between the 2.4 and 3.7 engines. Something to do with oil pan clearance. As long as you only use the housing and everything contained there in you're good. Your cv axles and such will plug right in. The only difference internally is the ring...
Well, I finally got an alignment today, didn't realize it had been a year since I had the entire front end out. I've been driving it with a tape measure driveway alignment far too long. They said I wasn't too far off the mark, but definitely driving much better now.
Just put a set of these on my lady's Ford fusion hybrid. They seem to be a great tire so far and and are aggressive for a passenger car while still being extremely quiet. But I wouldn't consider using them on something that is used regularly offroad.
If I'm remembering correctly I don't think those lasted to well, more of a bandaid. The IRO is a little pricey, but you'll likely never have to mess with it again.
I followed the FSM to get it done. Went with all new bearings and crush sleeve. Had to kneel on the diff up on the work bench to get the crush sleeve to crush. 3 foot breaker bar. Picked up a 4 foot breaker bar to get the rear done as the torque is considerably higher. 500ish lbs rear compared...
My big buddy heater was a life saver
It feels a little heavier in the steering during tight turns such as parking lots, but really it's hardly noticeable. Performance is awesome offroad. I've got a video of where I get the front wheel off the ground on a steep climb and it keeps turning under...
