High output alternator
I am not so much into car audio (perfectly happy with original Infinity system and upgraded speakers), but you might want to look at adding a capacitor to your system. Sometimes upgrading wires can make the dimming problem worse as the amp can now pull power from the rest of the system even more...- mtrionfo

What did you do to your jeep today?
Replaced lower ball joint on passenger side after boot was ripped. Last week I started hearing a squeak/groan when turning wheels left or right. Went underneath and saw right LBJ boot ripped and grease gone. Shot it with some lithium to get thru the week then replaced it yesterday. About $30...- mtrionfo

What did you do to your jeep today?
Installed new (reman) alternator. Batt light started coming on intermittently during past week. Battery only one year old and volts stuck at 12.5 even with Jeep at 2K RPM. Swapped in new alt and now just over 14 volts off idle and no charging light. Looked like original alt so no complaints.- mtrionfo

Installed a new water pump this morning. Last one started slow drip drip during recent trip down to South Carolina. It lasted just over two years and 60K miles. Drained coolant, removed serpentine belt and tensioner, swapped in new pump, then reverse for install. Plenty of room even with...- mtrionfo

Highest Mileage Thread
Just rolled past 208K this weekend on my 02 Limited. I have had to replace: Water pump Radiator (2x) Belt tensioner And of course tires, rotors, pads, shocks, battery, etc... Good luck.- mtrionfo

What did you do to your jeep today?
Rotated tires First rotation at 5K miles of the Kumho KL61's using floor jack and four jackstands. I am very satisfied so far with ride, low noise and wet weather grip. Also checked all fluids under the hood.- mtrionfo

Losing Coolant
When I bought my 2002 from a used lot it had a small crack in the upper driver's side corner. I found the crack during the test drive and was able to negotiate the price down by $700. A couple of pics of the new Kumho KL61's on my 2002. Only slight rubbing when backing up at full steering lock. (The General Grabbers I had on previously did the same until they wore down a bit.)
