I’ve searched as best I can, to no avail.

My wife drives an 07 Liberty. We had a starting problem just before the 4th and she had AAA tow it to a garage.
Apparently the driver put the transfer case in neutral to do so. No biggie.
When she picked it up, she says the dash light is on that says “Part Time”.
Near as I can tell from the manual, this should only be on when it is in Part Time High, not 2WD.
I’ve gone out and moved it around some, shifting into4 hi and 4 lo, then back into 2WD. It is definitely in 2WD, but the light stays on. She swears it was never on before, and to the best of my feeble recollection, I don’t ever remember it being on.

Any input as to what could be te issue?
(she scoffs at the possibility of getting rid of it-it has great sentimental value to her)

If you are sure it is shifting correctly, it is likely the TC position sensor.

I had the exact same issue with my 2004 and it was the sensor. I replaced mine from the bottom without removing the console lime the manual states. Pretty quick and easy, you just have to work blind :)
