It might actually be easier in some ways to simply swap over the internals, especially if the diff itself has a different configuration than the one in your vehicle. The adjustments on these diffs are pretty easy, since they don't have shims. They just take a little bit of time. Also With the donor diff, check the tooth pattern before removing and install with the same pattern weather you agree with it or not. We tend to have the fewest issues when we put things back the way we found them. New parts are a different story.This is going to be a bit complicated, so it's going in my 2002 4x sport soon as my shop is done LOL>
The pinion is the hardest part. You need to crank it on and set the end play and the preload. Not hard, just take a little time. A shop would be best for that since they are more likely to have the tooling.
