dammit got me again
That's what she said.
Next thing you know the good ol gov'ment will recall all jeeps that have the 3.7 because they have the 3.7... A nice gasser 1.4 will work, won't it?

Why don't florida jeeps get recalled too?
I mean, the only time the salt belt region gets salt is during winter, right?
I get to deal with salty air 24/7/365...

WAH! I have to deal with the nice Florida weather with the amazing ocean air all year long! sad2.gif
That recall was 1st issued over a year ago well before the toyota crap.Tjunkie, I hear ya. With all this stuff going on with Toyota, I'm sure the NHTSA isn't taking any chances.
I don't agree with the government intervention in business- I think it's downright communist behaviour (my opinion.) But I will take advantage of the recall anyway.
How does one find out if any of the recalls have been done on your vehicle if you are not the original owner.. ????
Thanks in advance
Ken
You know all of the ball joint mess should have replaced under warranty once, with one that has a zerk fitting!!! Simple solution, Chrysler could have ordered the Moog's.
I am sure some have had their BJ's replaced more that once.
I wonder if my 04 will qualify next year...??

Like TBJ said, the OEM LBJ's(and UCA's) are MOOG's,so they did order MOOG's.OE balljoints ARE Moogs.
Just sayin'
Actually they are,the OEM non-greaseable LBJ's for a KJ are also MOOG part# K3199.They are just NOT the same K3199 replacements with the zerk fitting.
The difference is about $40 in price for the grease zerk MOOG.Times that by about 1 million and you'd get a good reason why.Considering the labour to replace the ball joints, why would Chrysler not then use the K3199 with the zerk fitting, besides the difference of a few dollars? Actually NHTSA should have mandated the necessity for a zerk fitting. Makes no sense to have potential accidents due to failures caused by metal on metal wear, due to lack of grease.
Is the K3199 that much better quality or is it just a zerk fitting added? Either way this should look bad on Chrysler to continue to install the ball joints with out a grease fitting. I guess common sense does not apply across the spectrum.
