04 front differential leaking

Hello, I have read the previous post from 2023 regarding this and then downloaded the FRM. Unfortunately the diagrams seem a little vague. Anyway, does the support bracket come off completely and is there any risk of the differential falling? The manual also mentions a "oil trough"? What is that? Also, elsewhere I've seen that the technique for putting on the rtv is to snug it in place, let it sit, then do the final tourqe. But other video tighten it right away. Does it matter? Thanks

"Oil trough" is a plastic channel that directs engine-oil filter spillage in a better direction for a catch pan.
