Hey Guys. I would appreciate your comments regarding a few maintenance questions. I have. 60k miles on my '05 Sport 4x4. I've never changed the transfer case lube or flushed my radiator. Should I have done this prior to now? I'm a skeptic to following any company suggested maintenance schedules except for oil changes. The car is rarely used in 4x4. Predominately street. The car is stock.
Welcome!
The answer is "Yes" on both, not so much due to the mileage (though they're both due on mileage alone) but also on time. Your Jeep is essentially 11 years old (since the 2016's are out now) and fluids break down over time.
Have the cooling system flushed at the dealership; compared to some other services the cooling system flush is very competitively priced at dealerships and you're sure to get the proper antifreeze put back in (HOAT-type coolant ONLY; universal types are NOT compatible.) The transfer case, and both front and rear differentials should be changed now as well. The transfer case uses ATF+4 fluid while the diffs use a standard gear oil - synthetic gear oils are overkill. 85W-90 will work fine as long as you don't tow a lot or go off-roading with regularity.
Hope this helps! :waytogo:
