Typically the problem with using a grill gaurd on a Renny is that you must sacrifice the tow hooks as this is typically where most of the guards mount. Also, most guards are not built for much more than "light use" and will not provide any type of mounting locations for tow hooks, or even provide a strong enough point to anchor a tow strap - even for highway use.

I think there are a few suppliers making guards for the Libbys, though I haven't seen many I like. Most seem to hi-light the "frog-eye'd" look of the earlier models.

The link was great! My problem with shopping on-line so far has been I have to wonder when I see things listed for an 06, and the picture is for an earlier 02-04, or as some of those show, another vehicle all together...

I would be interested in the 7th or 8th items by RAMPAGE, but there again, an installed picture could make-or-break the deal. The sad thing is I'd be dropping $160 (more for chome) plus whatever the mounting kit costs, plus any shipping, only to find out if I really like it or not. Don't get me wrong - mail order can be great, but I usually try to find a local retailer to go have a look first...

Hopefully someone here may be running one and can help you out. It's a grat place for that....

That website linked above is a crock.. I looked there when i was looking to get mine. They show some on other vehicles, and that Rampage light bar isn't even available for the Liberty yet they show it on that page as for the Liberty with the mounting kit. Umm yeah there is no such mounting kit for the Liberty. I even emailed the company that makes and sells them and they told me NO.

kb0nly - Thanks for the warning. I've seen too many sites like this myself...

JeepOwner07 - There is one for sale on the FOR SALE page, it even comes with lites. Looks like it is for an earlier 02-04 though - Might still work?

From MAG, yes, it will technically work, but it's kinda looked like it was meant for the curvy hood...JMO...

I wouldn't expect any of these grill guards or bull bars to actually do much good in a front impact accident.

However, mine has saved my headlights and grill a half dozen times now from pheasents and road debris.

I'm certain that the ARB bumper I have on the front of my Jeep will dramatically improve my odds against everything but a Mack truck. Check out their web page, they've crash tested the things and they are airbag compliant. Then go read the testemonials and finally, ask around to those who have them and have plowed into stuff with them. The big steel bumper will fair far better than the brush guards in question or the plastic front end.
