17 inch wheels tire size?

Okay, since I am coming to within a week or so in pulling the trigger on a lift (2.5-3”) I’m starting to wonder about tire size. Having looked at the calculators and visual aids, I think I’m seeing that they are based on 16”. I have 17x7.5’s stockers. I’d like to keep the wheels. What is the maximum size to stick on there?

Just look say at TireRack for a tire in the 30 inch range
225-70-17 is 29.6,
265-65-17 is 30.7
sure theres other sizes but it kind of depends on what tire and brand you are looking at
