Control arms lift kit

Hello, I don't know if this has been discussed, if so I was unable to find it, if I do a 2" lift kit on my KJ, can I use the upper control arms for a non lifted KJ, or should I 100% get the lift kit adapted ones, I am looking forwars to buy the lifted specials, but just to know if I could do the lift kit without changing them.
If this has been discussed before please link the thread post so I don't waste nobody's time, thank you very much all of you.

Up to 3 inches the stock arms still work.

It's not consistent. I put 2.5" lift on at first and needed upper arms immediately.

There wasn't enough adjustment for alignment. Wore a pair of new front tires crooked before the arms showed up.
