2004 Liberty steering wheel lights

This may be a dumb question but are the steering wheel controls of an 04 Liberty supposed light up.? My cruise control steering wheel lights nor my door lock buttons on both front doors light up. Everything else does.

I mean newer jeep liberty's do, but not an 04. Don't think they would anytime before 07 at least, but I could be mistaken.
Jeeps tend to be minimalist in design, but they weren't created as luxury vehicles. They were created to get people where they're going (through trenches and across rough terrain at the time [Bantam Jeep]). But newer libertys do. Although I'm not a fan of them..

Yep, my 98 Ranger's do too.

They look as if they should light up though. But on a really close look it's apparent they're just painted buttons. Cheers all.

On my '03 Renegade the cruise control buttons do not have lights in/on them. However, the window switches and door lock buttons all do.

Center console window switches:
