2005 KJ, 2.8crd 6sp Transmission Selector

Hello,
My Jeep is starting to regularly jump out of 1st gear on take off. There is no grinding noise, just a clean jump/clunk back to neutral. From what I have read, it can be either the Syncros or the 6sp shifter box. Most discussions point to the shifter box, as if it were syncros there would likely be some grinding of the gears when trying to select 1st gear.
I haven't been able to find a replacement Shifter box for a KJ transmission, only the Lever assembly, whoever I found a shifter box for the 6sp JK wrangler transmission. From pics of these transmissions the shifter box looks the same. Can anyone confirm if the after market shifter box in the link below will fit my 6sp KJ.

To be safe I'd contact B&M, I believe when I looked into they only have it listed for the 05+ wranglers with the nsg370, but that transmission came in the libertys and I believe some nitros as well. I couldn't imagine them making different transmissions for such a small market of other vehicles, but its better to be safe than sorry.

Or order from a place that has good returns, that way you can compare the shifters when you take yours out to see if they are perfectly identical to how they mount.

I want one badly, but have too many other things to fix at the moment to justify buying one!

Thanks for the reply and advise. Unfortunately my KJ is in Spain, so while I'm here in the US I was hoping to get the part to take back with me. But then a return if needed costs as much as the part!!

DO NOT buy anything from MBZGRAM, or Dana Port racing, they will take your money and never ship your shifter, I had to deal with the bank to get my money back when I ordered this exact shifter from Dana Port, sister ripoff to MBZgram, I bougth one from Amazon, it came three days later it works great, I need to bend the shifter a little for clearance in the console, but the shifter works good, no more popping out of first!
