I'm surprised there is a "US mode" as most vehicles simply switch between metric & imperial/standard/whatever - & I note what KJowner says, which suggests he can't swap between the 2.

I think it's a dealer job to alter the display from US to UK gallons.

& your not going to find a Fiat technician who knows that 20 year old Jeeps even exist.

I wonder if "US mode" is simply "not metric"

No it's measuring in US gallons so showing way less MPG than my other one that reads UK gallons, the L/100km values are similar. There was a jeep specialist up the road from me who had an old dealer diagnostic tool, unfortunately he seems to have gone.

My display says average mpg. I used the menu function and made sure it was in US mode which it was. I love my little diesel, very economical, my dodge 3/4 ton truck with a Cummings diesel in town get about 13 on the road the best I have ever got is 25.4 mpg but it will tow 11,000 pounds with no problem. Clock says 208,496 miles on the truck.

We normally get about 27 US mpg with our CRD, once got 32.... She has 316k miles on the odo. We bought her new and have loved her ever since.
Ram 1 ton has got as high as 19.5... Now with 266k miles on it, I can still get that but I need to stay off the pedal.
If I could buy a diesel weed eater, I would. Love those compression ignition engines....
