The major problem will be the back spacing
keep that in the 4"+ range and you should be OK
go with a 16X7 with 4"+ BS and you will be even better

Yeah but they don't make the wheels I want in 16x7. Is there a lift for the 2wd everything I see is for 4wd

Assuming you have the 225/75R16 ST's, an 8" wide rim would be stretching those narrow tires pretty far. It might be ok, but it'll probably look a little funny.

well if they only come 16X8 then you should get new tires
yes they do make a lift for a 2wd
IIRC any lift that fits a 4wd will work
I see that it is your wifes ride
I would recommend OME springs and struts/shocks
You can get away with Rancho struts/shocks just fine

Seeing as how it is only 2wd I know off-roading is out
I would look for a small spacer lift
IIRC daystar makes a 1.5 incher that should work
what I would do if I were you is
get the daystar 1.5" spacer for the front
and maybe stack an extra rear spring pad or 2 out back
that will take out most if not all + some of the rake
get the rims you want and some 245/70's for them
that tire is wider and only 1/2" or so taller than stock
should look great and ride good with only minor cost as far as lift goes
with no wheelin then the small spacers should not cause you any issues

Why are you saying to stick with stock springs/shocks?

hard off road used beats the crap out of the suspension
stock parts just are not up to the task
with only 2wd "hard" off road use is out of the question so the stock parts should do fine
now for the if
if the jeep has more than 35K on it then chances are good that you need or will need struts/shocks soon
if you have only 20K why spend money you dont need to?
if you want to get it out of the way now and up grade for a better ride sure
replace the shocks and struts
but still the stock springs will be fine ,again no hard off road use
so no issues with them
now if you want to improve the suspension better than stock then go
OME all around that is the best around for the KJ
