Hello,
My name is Dirk, I’m from the Netherlands and new to Jeep and 4x4’s.
I recently bought an ‘05 Cherokee KJ (Liberty in the US) it’s a 2.4 16v with a 6 speed manual and the part time 4x4 transfer case.
To be honest I wasn’t specifically looking for a Jeep, but my search ended on one and I’m loving it. I’m a carpenter joiner by trade and needed a vehicle to transport my tools and pull a trailer. In Europe there isn’t an awful lot of choice if you need 2.4 metric tons of towing capacity and it has to be an affordable vehicle.
I’m working on converting it to a commercial vehicle, purely for tax benefits. It had no service history so it got a full service, including timing belt and water pump. Couple things still left to do like oil changes on the front and rear diff as well as gearbox and transfer case. So far it’s been good fun working on the Jeep. I finally own a car I can work on again!
Cheers,
Dirk
