2006 Jeep Liberty Sport Cruise Control

My wife just bought a 2006 Liberty Sport. After buying we realized that the cruise control did not work and after looking for possible problems I realized that this cruise might not actually be factory.

The reason I state this after looking at many others online I realize that all I have seen that where factory where installed onto the steering wheel, ours not so much.

Ours is installed off the lower left side of the column on as far as I can say on a swivel stick. Where the stick is attached to the column it is on a 4 way swivel.

Now for the question!!! Can anybody tell me if a.) This is actually a factory setting I have not yet seen. b.) What should be my step of actions to trace any problems.

No cruise light no actions when pressing anything absolutely dead.

Does it look like one of these? I'm not an expert (so take everything I say with a grain of salt), but I believe these are aftermarket.

If the guy listing this at eBay can be trusted, this is the OEM kit:

It's for a 2005, but I'd imagine it would be similar.

No i already looked at those it's similar but not quite it's got a swivel at the lower end.
