I have a couple situations driving to work where I have a short window to make a left turn from a stop and really need to gun it. When I do, it bogs down and doesn't "catch". Kind of like carburetors used to do when flooded. At slower acceleration it is a little better, but I really need to be aggressive on the pedal when passing. It does help a little when I turn OD off, but still not as responsive as it used to be.

I have replaced the plugs and ran Techron fuel injector cleaner through a tank of gas.

Anyone have other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Does it accelerate normally in a straight line?
What year is your Jeep?
Got ABS/Traction control?

Well there's your problem, you are supposed to be filling your tank with gas not grass...lol
Is your check engine light on?

That is a good question on how it does going straight. I will check on my way home and update.

Sorry I forgot that our rig info isn't with the avatar here.
2006 Sport 4WD - Yes, traction control.

No check engine light.

I thought that putting in some primo grass would help. Instead it just makes it want to turn into Taco Bell late at night.

If your trying to turn quick on say ice, the Electronic throttle control will "bog" your engine when it senses wheel slip. Its part of the change to a drive by wire throttle body in 06 onward.

When your on dry pavement, you shouldn't notice it, confirm that this is the case and thats probably what you saw happen in the left turn scenario. If you keep your foot on the throttle it will eventually stop retarding the timing and accelerate once your wheels catch up with the ground. You might also hear the ESP braking the spinning wheel on your axle, in this case the right rear on a left turn.

If your in 4Lo it goes away but not terribly applicable for the turning left on highway scenario.

Update your signature with model year and it will help with further questions you post.

First off, thanks everyone again for the input.

Does it accelerate normally in a straight line?
What year is your Jeep?
Got ABS/Traction control?

It is not nearly as laggy going straight. I am not real sure what that points to but will research it.

Have you cleaned the throttle body?

I have not for awhile. Good idea.

get a can of mopar combustion chamber cleaner

Will look into this. Never heard of it.

I was pointing to the traction control may be limiting a turned gun maneuver. Anti-roll mitigation?
Hows the air filter? Try some throttle body spray cleaner, engine running @2000rpm in park.
How's the PCV valve?
BTW is your jeep fully warmed up when you are trying to gun it?
Transmission fluid level clean & full?

What are the RPMs on the tach showing? If the engines turning but the truck isn't moving then it seems to be a transmission problem. If the engine ain't turning, SeaFoam the thing. Wanted to say "*****" but..
