Im not to sure I would touch the positive to the negative side of the battery. Only way I would do that is if I used a resistor.

I understand most capacitors have a resistor on them in a circuit for this very reason but everything Ive always learned told me NOT to do that. :)

Hi Jeepjeepster,

Just to be clear, I don't think the battery is really involved at this point - they are suggesting that you remove the positive battery cable and touch it to ground.

I can see how this might be of some concern though, perhaps someone more familiar with electrical stuff could comment... or perhaps you just did ;)

I should however mention that these are not my instructions, and while I'm passing the info along you should use it at your own risk :)

You all do realize that the 42RLE started it's life out as a minivan ****** right(as the A604),it's going to shift like a minivan ****** since it was built to be in one.Glad I got the truck ******(45RFE),and it shifts like a truck ******.

I wish i had yours too. my wifes 02 has that one and there is a huge difference. i just ordered the kit from transgo, ill post an update after i install it.

after reading everything I feel lucky not have any shifting problems. When i'm on the high way I'll hang out around 2000-2100RPMs doing 65-70 and my jeep won't up shift or downshift for anything unless I tell it too. I've already went from Hershey, PA to Wilkes-Barre doing 75 the whole way on cruise control and it never shifted once and there are some serious hills to go up and down between the two places.
