I had started to notice my a/c unit working intermittantly recently. When I would be driving along the air would warm up. When it was hot outside. Usually it would start working again if I left it off for a little while or elt the car cool down. Now this wasn't happening all of the time, just occasionally.

Friday when I jumped in and started up the a/c the air was hot and became much hotter as I drove, as though the temp control was on hottest position. The car had been sitting in the sun while I played in a golf tounament.:) No matter what I did this did not change. I tried again yesterday but no help, still hot.

It seems like the heat control is stuck in the hot position. I think the compressor is working but the air is being heated.

Any help much appreciated.

Engine temp is normal. I checked just now and the compressor is spinning and the lower line is cold.

Just an update. I pulled the dash panel off and unplugged the wires for the temp control. Then I noticed this little pot looking thing so being curious I turned it with my screw driver. I plugged the wires back in, started up the Liberty and I had cool air again. =D>

I don't know if turning the pot helped or unplugging and plugging in the wires helped but I'm back in business for now.

Thanks to those who posted.

Pot in a Liberty? I thought that was against the law. (whistle)

Well at least you are cool again. =D>
