AC leak

When I reolaced my engine the only part of the a.c. that was disconnected was the lines to the condensor.
I hooked these back up and got it recharged but everything leaked out again...

Thinking I need new orings for those connectors. Any installation tips or tricks to get them to seal?

if your system was open to the atmosphere then i think you'll need to change the dryer/accumulator(?)

for the gasket, use a socket to help get them in.

Honestly, the best is to get pro help. I brought mine to a shop that does AC only and they were able to find pinhole sized leaks. Haven't had issues since. it's been about 5ish years.

Did the refrigerant you added come with any UV dye to help you find leaks?

If youre asking me, I always add an ounce or so of dye when I have a system open. Refrigerant that comes with it typically also has leak sealer in it. Ive found refrigerant that comes with just dye but its stupid $$. So I just buy the bottles of dye and add it in.

You shouldnt need to replace the dryer unless the system has no pressure in it at all and its been pulling and pushing air into and out of the system through the leak. Mine still had pressure on it and I only had the system open for a matter of seconds. Kept it under vacuum for two days too.

Absolutely correct, When I worked on A/C systems many of my repairs followed someone else's work, also never use any type of sealer in the system..

It was open for weeks. My helper thought we would need to disconnect the lines from the compressor to the condensor for the engine swap....but we could have just move the compressor off to the side...

So here I am now...
Probably need a dryer and may as well do all the seals it sounds like...
