Hi. I have recently bought a 2006 ok crd. I've done a few miles in it, but recently, returning from an hour round trip, battery warning light came on, systems shut down, and I fortunately just got back on to my drive.
I replaced the alternator, and the car now starts and drives ok.
However, since this episode, every time I lock the car with either key fob, with new batteries, the alarm siren starts after 20 seconds. I now have to lock the car from the inside, exit drivers door and lock that with the key .a further issue is that the key in the lock will not lock or unlock the whole central locking system.
I noticed the bonnet open sensor is missing but guess it was like that before the alternator problem as there is nothing on my garage floor.
I'm stumped. Is there anyone with some advice? Battery seems fine and shows about 10.5v whilst engine is cranking. I'm loathed to go buy a 150€ battery to rule out battery issues when it seems strong..

Disconnect the battery overnight to reset everything.
Unfortunately PCI bus is massively affected by voltage so if the battery is old and allows it to dip all sorts of weird faults occur. 10V is dipping into it, deep charge the battery overnight and see what happens

I've already deep charged the battery whilst I was sorting the alternator. I disconnected it overnight yesterday too. It's only at 10.5V cranking, and usually sits dormant at 12.6v. Ive hit a wall, I'm not very knowledgeable about electrics. I don't have a jeep dealer nearby either, not popular here in rural France. Thanks for your suggestions. I'll ask around see if I can borrow a good battery from a Landy owner perhaps.

Thanks for the thread link. Sadly, neither of the suggestions worked, although I noticed they weren't specified for the KJ, but a different model.
I'll see if I can find an alarm reset post for the KJ

It sounds like one of the switches is stuck in the open position so the alarm is seeing an open door.
The bonnet switches are awful, Mine is disconnected too, make sure the end is taped up so it can't short out, that will put the alarm on.

When this problem started, I checked the bonnet switch. It's missing, and think it has been for a while. I tried sorting it but that gave a bonnet open message.
I can't find any door switches so I squirted wd40 into the door catches hoping that it may sort out any dirt or stuck switches. Do you know where the switches are?

1 further idea. If your jeep has the evic (overhead console) the relearn procedure is different.

It does have the computer and info display above the rear view mirror. Is this what you mean ?
Also, all doors lock and unlock. I would guess that a faulty switch would stop that.
