I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty. Right before Christmas, the transmission went out. We had it rebuilt. 2 days later, the power steering went out.
The night before we had it towed to the mechanic, the key was accidentally left on & drained the battery. The mechanic says the anti thief has been activated & he can't get the computer to reset. He tried disconnecting the battery & leaving it off for about an hour. That didn't work. Any ideas? Thank you.

Drained battery, ensure it is a good load tested battery.
For reset, try removing both battery cables away from battery & tape both cables together for 45 minutes.
Hope that may help...

you might also need someone with a better scan tool to talk it the SKIM/SKREEM module and see if it has any diagnostic codes stored.

otherwise try this...

STEP 1

Open the driver's side door. Close the other doors.

STEP 2

Press the power door-lock switch on the keyless entry fob.

STEP 3

Close the driver's side door. Leave all doors closed for about 16 seconds until the Vehicle Security Light on the instrument cluster stops flashing quickly. When the light flashes at a slower rate, this signifies that the system has been reset and rearmed.
