AT Tires for Stock Liberty

the SR-As are LITERALLY the worst tire I've ever driven with.

That's only because you've never had the ST's ...lol WOW they suck!

But remember they are bean counter tires ... not all GY's are equal. I would buy the Silent Armours again without question.

Well, it's about time to replace my ragged Goodyear Wrangler SR-As. I'm probably going to keep the same stock size (235/70/16) so I'm guaranteed to have absolutely no rubbing (adding an extra 3/4 of an inch will probably cause rubbing at wheel lock) due to old sagged suspension that I don't have the money to replace right now. Now, I was looking for tires, and got really excited about the General Grabber AT2. Only problem is that the tire is DISCONTINUED. p:

I just went through the same thing. I even called general tire to see when they would start shipping the grabbers again since everyone says they are just back ordered. They told me they would be shipping in the spring so I made it through winter and emailed general to see if they were shipping yet and was told they had no date. They did not say they were discontinued. At this point it doesn't matter though because if they aren't reliable in their customer service I'm definitely not buying their product. :favorites68: Bummed though, I thought the grabber would be a good, and good looking, tire. Haven't decided yet what to go with either.

I just replaced my Wrangler SR-A's. I had them for 5 & 1/2 years with 38,500 on them. I probably could have gotten another 1000 miles out of them but it was time to ditch them.

I purchased BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain T/As. I picked up four of them from tire rack. The whole order came to $550 and that includes shipping. My sisters boyfriend installed them for me and it only cost me lunch at Wendy's taking them both out tomorrow night for dinner.

I'm gonna order another tire later in the summer to replace the spare and I'm set

There pretty nice. Road noise isn't bad and ride quality is nice. Hell, anything rides nice compared to the nearly bald SR-A's.

I've been looking at the Cooper Discoverer AT3s as well. In fact last fall when I was calling around for the grabber at2s one guy tried to get me to buy the Coopers but I had my heart set on the grabbers so I passed up a good deal.

Wonder how they handle in snow. I may go out and look at them in person this weekend.

You should check out the Yokohama Geolander AT-S Tires. Got them on my KJ back in December, aggressive tred with quiet and smooth ride. I love mine.

Not sure if you want to spend the money, but I recommend the GoodYear Wrangler Silent Armor tires. I've had them on my Liberty for awhile. They are excellent on snow/ice and do very well off road also.

I had these on my old 82 Chevy, best all-around tires I've ever had.... snow/ice, off-road, and even on-road... not noisy and rode very nice on the highway.

Ok, I've done some phoning around since Oct. of 2011 and cannot find a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo2's. WTF happened to these tires? Have they discontinued them?

I'm looking for a set of tires for my '04 Liberty (235/70r16) and am completely lost as to where to look next. Looking for a replacement to the Revo2's that are quiet as well as decent off road (snow too). I can't stress the "QUIET" enough, they HAVE to be quiet. For instance take this comment (no offense to the author)

The Geolander AT-S's are NOT a quiet tire. I drive approximately 125miles a day on these tires on my other 4WD vehicle and I'm sick to death of the road noise from them. I only have them because the tires that were on the vehicle (bought used) were bald and with the snow falling I took the only thing I could find in 235/70r16 on the eastern seaboard (searched from NY to GA for anything and everything, found only Geolanders even tried to get General Grabbers, which news here says are officially discontinued).

If you think that the Yokohama AT's are noisy then you
will not be happy with the Revo's either
Then again you have no clue what noisy is
And should sell your Jeep and drive a Honda
They are quiet
Or drive you Jeep to the middle of no where
like it was disgned to do

Tire Rack state side does list 235-70-16's as being in stock.
($159.00 US $)

But it's kind of hard to help you find tires when you only list "Canada" as your location!

I really wouldn't suggest getting an A/T if you're looking for a REALLY quiet tire. I have the Hankook Dynapros on my Jeep now. They're definitely louder than the Wrangler SR-As, but they look sick and grip even better.

Oh well, they are a great tire IMO.
I'm thinking of getting a set of 5 for daily driving so we don't kill our M/T R's.
But these M/T R Kevlar's are just absolutely excellent!

EVER SO SLIGHTLY louder. But SO much safer than those useless SR-As. Plus while researching tires, I disregarded noise complains cause I blast my music! :Rock on:

That seemed to be the only complaint anyone had for the tire. And it's not even that bad. Plus, I expected it looking for tires with these kinds of treads. I don't care. So far, I feel SO much safer in the rain. I tried a couple times to get myself to lose control. No-go, and they're not even warn in yet!

So far so good. 250-300 miles in, that is.
