What happened to the old lady?
Don't look at this as the end of your KJ. Look at it as the beginning if a bigger and better one ! Most the fun is in the build, right? glad to hear your alright though.
blue_kjR417"I will tell you all this much, the thing I will miss most about this KJ is this being my primary forum! I will stay in touch but it just wont be the same as it was.
Buy another KJ. Use the wrecked one as a parts surrogate

Well dont like to hear about anyone loosing there Kj but if you walked away unhurt thats a plus.
If you do get it back (and if able) please let my know on the lift. I need to do my 03 real bad and will have to do it in the spring no matter what.
Man I liked that Kj hope it lives on in parts.

Well, I talked to the insurance company today and they said that it was officially totaled, after a week of waiting. Also I told them I wanted them to calculate me a pay off including my brand new tires and wheel spacers, as well as my practically new OME/Bilstien Lift. And a payoff for just the vehicle and allow me to remove all of the parts my self to resell them. I'm thinking if they aren't willing to atleast give me $1500 over what just the vehicle is worth I am going to take the parts my self and I figure I can sell the lift, tires, spacers, skids, and a few other minor things for probably more than that.

My Girlfriend has already completely claimed the seat covers and I think the hitch too. But other than that the other members who have contacted me will get shots at the other parts.

If any one is lookin for a nice new discounted set of tires and I'm able to get these I will be selling them for $650 plus shipping. They are Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx's in 245/75/16 with less than 150 miles on them and are 10 ply.

Lift will include:
Old Man Emu 927 Front Coil Springs
Old Man Emu 948 Rear Coil Springs
Bilstien H0 Front Struts
Bilstien H7 Rear Shocks
Boilers 3/8" Billet Aluminum Front Strut Shims
4 Mopar Rear Upper Coil Spring Isolators
Teraflex Extended Front Bumpstops
Homemade Extended Rear Bumpstops
Total of over $900.00 in parts with less than 10,000 miles on them.

I may also be selling my husky liners if my girlfriend decides she doesn't like the grey color because her KJ is tan on the inside. I will most likely be keeping all of the KC's off my roof rack but may sell the rack.

So if you're interested let me know and I'll add you to this list:

Seat Covers - GF
Hitch - GF

Still possible sales:
Tail Light Guards - GF
Front Tow Hooks - GF, sevenhelmet
Huksy Liners - GF
Tires - JBHARDWARE
Lift - JBHARDWARE, theroofable, Porkchop
Skids - JBHARDWARE, cplchris
Roof Rack (No Lights) - cplchris, theroofable
Rock Rails -
Carpeted Cargo Shelf -
Custome Renegade Cross Bars -

I'm so sorry about you Jeep! :sad72:
I hope you don't mind that I saved a few picks of it... :emotions33:
I'm using it like one of those pictures you see people hanging up in their bathroom for the... "I'm going to have that body someday!"

That was a really nice Jeep you had! :-({|=

Did yours have the EVIC? I'm really wanting add one to my Rene but have to have 05 and newer for the temp sensor to work.

JKs are fun! I love mine. If you get an automatic I recommend a 2012. They have a bit more power. If you don't mind a dog, lol, go with a 2007-2011. I have a 2008 and honestly don't think it is that bad. I am only at a 33" with a OME 2.5 hd lift on it. But I am eyeing a OME 4" with 37's. :)

Nothing really wrong with the '07-'11 JK's
Just need very deep gears to run 33's
It was explained best at a little get together
"well I sold my 10 year old 4 ****** TJ with
33's and 4.56's
and bought a 2 year old JK and put 33's on only to find
out you still need 4.56's to be happy with 33's"
He went on to say that the 4 door must be really bad
with the extra weight

Nope I didn't have an EVIC, I wanted one too lol! But thanks I'm flattered you liked my rig!

I'm planning on a 07 or 08 with a 6 speed and the 3.8L with 3.73's. I would like to do the OME 2" Lift with 33's shouldn't have any power issues there.

Well the insurance company called back today and made me an offer of $10,665 as the Jeep sets right now. The salvage value of the jeep is $2400 and I owe $3200 on it. So I have chosen to take the cash and leave the jeep as is and not part it out because I only paid $9400 for it 3 1/2 years ago and put 1820 in it for the lift tires and spacers which are the the only things I wasn't able to get off that I put on it so if you take that from the $10,665 thats like saying they paid me for those parts and gave me $8,845 for the Jeep. So pretty much I lost $555 by driving 3 1/2 years and putting 50,000 miles on the thing. Sorry to disappoint those of you who were wanting the lift, tires, spacers, and skids, and hooks but its not worth the extended time it would take me to be able to find another vehicle to part it out. I will try to find out where they will be taking it so that you locals might can try to buy parts off of it. However, I do still have some things I plan to sell off of it.

that is what you would think
But trust me you will
I don't know why but they do
And from what I have seen the six speed makes it
even worse
Put it like this there is a guy locally doing gears in JK's
On average 4 a week
Most running 33's and 35's
"back when the YJ/TJ were hitting the street all you needed
was to find 1 with 3.73's and you were good with 33's
these things (points to JK) all come with 3.73's and are dogs
with out 4.56's if you run 33's"
Just some food for thought

I've got two friends here in town with JK's one a 4 door rubicon and the other a 2 door x. Both are six speeds and have 3.8L's. The rubicon has 37's and stock 4.10's I haven't rode in it but he says that it doesn't have any power issues. The 2 door I've rode in and he has 33's with 3.73's and it pulls its self just fine, I really doubt that the extra 2 doors make that much of a difference.

If you really believe that you can pull 37's with 4.10 gears
then I can not help you any more you need to see a
professional for that
I can tell you this
Most guys who go 37 end up with either 5.13 or 5.38
Maybe I am just an old school guy who hangs with other
old school guys that like there Jeeps to work right
Then again after a long day with a JK 4 door 6 speed on
35's with 3.73 who had to get a huge running start to
make hills that you need to crawl up because the Jeep
lacked power ,3 other people tried to drive it
I would need 4.88 or 5.13's to be happy in that Jeep
Heck I don't really like my TJ and I have an auto with
a 3 to 1 first gear and 3.73 with 33's
but I don't have any top gear ,3 speed so the 4.10's
are out for now

Either way my plans are only to do 33's with 3.73's and if I decide the power isnt' enough I will go to 4.10's until then I'm not worried about 37's 5.13's or anything to do with that.

Why would you even mess with 4.10's
IIRC the od gear on both the 6 speed and the auto
Is like .60 or there about
Why not 4.56 or maybe 4.88 if you don't do
a boat load of highway
Take advantage of that big od gear
