I swear I read this in a thread at some point, but I searched all over and couldn't find it.

Any amazing deals on these things? Just trying to make sure I have all the necessary info.

Sorry, I know I have been asking a lot of questions lately on tires and suspension....what can I say? I am an accountant (and was an auditor at that!) so I am pretty **** and particular.

Thanks!

I knew I read it somewhere!

Tony - there's no issue with running normal length OME shocks with the OME medium duty springs, correct? I just won't get quite the articulation I would with the 132L's.

If not, then my stupid question would be why can't I run these with OEM (Mopar) rear shocks for a while? Is the spring rate too much for the valving in the stockers or something?

Makes sense Tony, didn't realize that the regular OME's were longer than stock as well.

So, front - why the need for Rancho or OME? Aren't all front struts the same length?

Agreed on the aftermarket better than OEM. Just wanted to know what's possible ;)

Once you do decide to buy, I'll tell you you will not be disappointed with OME and Ranchos alround!
This Frankenlift we have (Which is pretty the same with the exception of the custom poly parts) is nuts!
The ride quality is that of a sports car! Nail a bump and it's just smooth!
Off road I'm sure will be something else!

Yes, a big out lay of cash, but our kj needed new springs and shocks anyway and at the end of the day the aftermarket was less exspensive in the long run.
Money well spent.

Cheers

Best place to buy rancho that I saw was Amazon. They were fast, rears were really cheap, and shipping was free. Been a couple months since I bought mine though. And I looked all over.

Not a dumb question, I thought about that several times when my wife went to the US for her work.

Yes, in a normal case they would fit...I guess it would wheigh about...35 kg...

Very good guess Tony. I got the all OME kit from Jeepin by Al, weighed in at 78lbs (35.4kg)
Max weight in a suitcase for most airlines without paying extra is 50lbs, so you would be OK with 2 cases. Even if you pay the extra, absolute max in one suitcase is 70lbs.

thanks for the info guys. suitcase transport seems to be doable.

I am pretty much set on Rancho/ OME combo. Has anyone tried the 9000 series shocks for a lift kit? I like their on the ride adjustability but not sure if they are as sturdy as the 17000 series.
