so after pulling into my driveway and straightening the wheels...my passenger lower balljoint decided to let go. pita but upon further thought...at least it didn't let go doing 75 mph on the freeway. I decided to pull the drivers side as well and it was dry as a bone so maybe the whole incident was a blessing in disguise.

Man close call! Any warning before?

I felt a little slop in the steering begin about a 1/4 mile from the house but I had just recently done the steering rack bushing fix and I just figured I had to tighten it up or something. I'll post some pics one I figure out how to use the img tags lol

Damn, that is wild. Go buy a lottery ticket, because you're lucky today! Do em both for peace of mind is the right call.

I had one break while my partner was driving and had just left the freeway. She was doing 35 instead of 75, still thankful it didn't happen at speed.

Were these ball joints still original or had they been replaced before, if so how long ago?
Glad it went in the driveway..total blessing!

Blessing that it was in your driveway.

Years ago, mine let go much the same way. Drove it 45 minutes (mostly freeway) to a buddies house. It let goat about 5 mph as I turned into his driveway

Do you know if they were OEM or aftermarket? It seems when they break they go at low speeds or parking when more stress is on them.

Prevoius owner is untruthful. A ball joint that dry after 12 months? I just did my lowers on an 06 and I used Moog problem solver. Just by vision they seem to be alot stronger and robust.
