MAN was that scarey! I was cruising at about 75-80 on the interstate in the left lane, and out of nowhere is this BANG and my steering wheel jerks out of my hands and goes to the left....I had to realize what the heck happened and gain control and try to GRADUALLY brake as there were cars all around me. I ended up in the center median and a cable guard-rail stopped me eventually. The trooper said he couldn't believe I got control and that the cable didn't tear the Jeep up, he said they usually wrap around vehicles. My driver side rear tire blew. I tell ya what though, I am PROUD of my Liberty, (02 Limited) cause she didn't flip! Blew off my fender and my taillight and part of my bumper. That was the first body damage EVER to my Jeep. I'm it's second owner and I bought it when it only had 51,000 miles on it. Needless to say, I have a nice brand new set of tires on it now and just got got it out of the body shop a couple weeks ago. Put some nice smoke tail lights on. She's good as new! :) Here's a few shots. Guess I should run outside and take some new pics! I painted my rims satin black, and she's lookin quite sharp if ya ask me!

The damage isn't too bad considering that you had a blow out at 75-80 mph!

Yes, KJ's kick ass!

I think the whole "Roll over" thing is way over blown and usually only
applicable to inattentive mouth breathing drivers!

Glad to hear nobody got hurt.

Thank you! Yeah I was on my way to a dog show. Had my 8mth old daughter in the back, and one of my dogs in a crate in the rear. I'm suprised they both were totally unphased! I on the other hand was in SHOCK for a few minutes! My husband was in front of me and I had to call him because he had NO idea what happened and he was 2 exits down already. (Men...so observant, lol)
Yeah, I know shat happens but, if you know how to control your vehicle, I think the rollover risk is not that big of an issue.

That is impressive vehicle control right there - WOW, you rock!! :rockit:

Great job keeping your cool and protecting your baby and your dog - attentiveness will keep us all alive.

Thank God nobody was hurt and you're able to tell us the story and share pics of your Libby. Great trucks, aren't they? :happy160:

Glad to hear everybody is okay. Imagine what would have happened if it was the front tire that blew.

Overall it doesn't look like a write off. Hopefully your insurance will agree.

Thanks everybody :) Yeah it was almost $3,000 in danages they said. Just had to pay my deductable. Cool thing was that I bought my own tail lights so they deducted that off the bill and replaced the regulators on my two back windows instead(we all know that whole issue!). I had it debadged before the blowout, and for some reason they felt compelled to put a 'limited' badge back on the damaged side. I was looking on the invoice and do you know that lil' thing costed $50!! Glad it's all over and hopefully that never happens again!

Really pleased that no one was injured! Kj is a strong vehicle!
How old were the tires and what kind of tire blew?

Shoot the tread seperated completely from the tire!!!

Well, they were Yokohamas, but it's my fault, I pushed em too far. They were past their time.
