Hey Guys!
So a couple of weeks ago I installed a back up camera in the trailer hitch (bought of ebay) and while doing so, to find the back up light wire in the taillight housing, i poked all of the wires to see which one was hot. I got it installed and 1 week later my brake light went out. I replaced the bulb, and now a week later it has gone out again. I wondering if because i poked all the wires that maybe i did something to make the bulbs keep blowing. Or maybe something else from that is causing the bulbs to blow... IDK.. any help?? :)

could be fluke that it blew out?
Maybe you poked too big of a hole that it short with the chassis?

Well this is the second time it has done it. The first time it blew a hole in the bulb.

your jeep is haunted by an electrical ghost.

could also check the fuse to the light. It might be a higher rated fuse than what it should be causing the light bulb to blow when there's a surge.

Unhook the camera wire from the backup wire and run for a while. Maybe the camera is causing it?

Great advice. I fix computers and my first question to the customer is "Did you change anything right before the problem began." Then I start from there. :)

Thanks for advice, but i already fixed the problem. There is a reflective plate that is in the brake light housing. This thing came unattached and fell onto the light and caused the light to keep going out. Thanks!
