I recently noticed that if I turn off my 2006 Liberty Limited, and remove the key, the brake lights still respond if I press the brake pedal.

Is this normal? If so, is this a feature like the automatically-stay-on "safety" feature many Liberties have, or is this usually standard for many different types of vehicles?

If this is not normal, what's wrong?

Thanks. :)

Thanks

Thanks for your response, Jeepster.

It seemed like it would be a normal thing, but I wasn't sure.

WTF there is something seriously wrong with your Jeep. Your brake lights should only come on while you are braking. Either you BCM is toast or you need new cross drilled brake lines. They are only $70 at KaleCoauto.com
You must be registered for see images attach

I am going to hell for that.
