Bull bar (thread split)

its not the pipe that wil bend. its the anemic brackets they give you to mount it to the frame.. theres a guy in town with a westin bull bar on his thats damaged and the tubes themselves are fine.. you can tell by lookin at it that the brackets bent.

i'm down with street jeeps. I play in dirt and mud all of the time in VT but I also enjoy driving a car that I find attractive so I keep visual mods in mind often. i'm also down with internet shorthand talk (i work hard all day long, I deserve to be lazy when i'm doing nothing but talking to 40 yr old men on a jeep forum). i really like the way jjay's jeep looks too so avalanche I'm right there with ya dude!

I must admit, while I am sure that my hood/grille are at risk with my brush guard on there, I consider myself a cautious driver and don't worry about it. My dad taught me to drive the old fashioned way; doesn't matter if someone cuts you off. if you hit another car with your car, you weren't driving defensively.

I put the Mopar version of Mag's brushguard on her libby ( I only paid $100 for mine)... she has a street queen, only offroad is in our front yard. Why.... she likes the looks. Functional... only when she pulls to far in the garage .
And yeah the brackets are kind of cheesy, they allow the whole assembly to pivot forward and like Tom said, probably do more damage to hood/grill, etc, but hey, that's what insurance is for.

Some people here off-road and some don't. Everyone is entitled to mod/use their jeep the way they want. Everyone has different taste and usage. There are a lot of people here that off-road and you will invariably get an off-road oriented opinion. (afterall, this is a jeep forum) This is good and no one means any bad intentions here. Everyone here is trying to help and give an opinion of what works (will hold up) usually from experience. So differing opinions are good.

The only thing around here you will get a lot of flak for is calling your jeep a "car". It is a "jeep" and made to go both on and off-road (unlike a car).......even if you don't take it off-road........

Just some thoughts.

I found my Manik that way for $90 with all the brackets, SS hardware and even a set of matching Manik steel taillight guards

Sorry to stay off topic but I agree here and I also disagree. I felt bad for av when he kept having to explain his intentions in wanting the grilleguard so i spoke up, that's all. Kid wants it for looks, so everyone should let him! Also, wasn't the KJ pretty much built to be a mall crawler?

I do beleive that every Jeep product to wear the "trail rated" badge is built to successfully complete the Rubicon trail.

Keep hanging out here (and other Jeep forums) also. I know I'm going to have my brush guard (Aries, I think) for an '05 to '07 up for sale in Nov or so, after I put the ARB on (That I just got a screaming deal for!).

Don't worry about what other people say about building a truck for looks. Those of us who use them off-road have to realise there are folks who won't, and by that will want it "fashionable." We'll still give you crap though!

If you want a mall crawler, there's a Compass for that.

THE COMPASS IS LITERALLY A PIECE OF CRAP!! I test drove it and i felt like i could run faster than it! And to everybody, i would love to go mudding down here and soon im hoping i will! So im not just for looks but for now i am.

I love the KJ. I appreciate the fact that you can put over 20k into like TJKJ and make a monster (but i'd personally get a bronco , or you can leave it stock and have it be a fun SUV for going off-road. BUT, I always thought that even though it had the potential, it really wasn't built to scale boulders.

avalance thats a 2.5" lift ( 150 ish) and man tires
