Bumper rash =(

so while trying to squeeze into whats already a small and tight garage, i scraped my bumper up against the wall, there are no paint marks but i do have the rough rash now. any ideas on how to smooth this out!

If you can feel the roughness, then most likely you are going to have to repaint the bumper to completely fix it.

I'm sorry. Looking at your avatar pic, I thought they were painted.

If they are textured plastic then, there isn't a fix to make it look new again... that I know of.

you can try gently sanding with some 220 grit sandpaper in various directions to smooth it out if it is real rough, but it will still be quite noticeable. An ARB will circumvent the entire repair process, but then the state of your front springs/shocks may come into play with the extra weight up front.

only way to fix that is to replace the plastic part. no other way to go about it except wait for the ARB. or do what i did when something similar happened to me... ignore it. :)

A heat gun might make it less noticeable. I've never done it but it may be worth a shot. It should at least take the lighter color away from the stressed plastic.

id be careful with it. dont wanna make it too hot and warp it. make it even worse

My wife uses tire majic on her bumbers makes it less noticable and the color blends in better as time goes. Still there, just looks better. Just make sure you let it dry good before you wash it or take it out in the rain.
