Check engine light came on and I ran the codes: 171 and 172. General info is 02 sensor, fuel filter,... Kind of non specific. Has anyone seen these codes and know of the potential fix? I know it is situation dependent, but I thought this might be a common problem.
Also, it has been raining here lately. Moisture issue?
I am going to run some fuel treatment through as my initial trouble shooting.

Are you sure on those code #'s? It would have to be a super freak accident to get both P0171 ans P0172 codes at the same time.

P0171-system too lean bank 1
P0172-system too rich bank 1

You sure it's not P0171 and P0174?--system to lean bank 1 and bank 2

Those codes are pre-upstream O2 sensors, most likely a vacuum leak of some sort or leaking/cracked exhuast manifold. But the pair(P0171/P0174) codes are the most hated codes by techs, very hard to trackdown in most cases.

Yes, those are the codes. I know they are contradictory. I ran it twice: checked the first time and said WTF so I reset and went out drove, light came on and I checked again. Same codes. So looks like I am stuck trouble shooting vacuum lines. Any other ideas?

Blockage or contaminant in fuel injector? Stopping fuel getting through one minute and purging too much through the next? Or would that have its own code? Just chucking ideas about?

With both of the codes I would have to personally look at the vehicle and the livedata via a scanner. This is one of those impossible code series.I'd be forking over the $$$ to have a dealership diagnose it.
