Cable is there for security, like cliffhangers, in case it slides sideways or suddenly stops, or engine gives :D

Yup, it was a replication of an old Audi Quattro ad (in case it wasn't show in US)

Had a quick discussion on that in one of our maths classes.

I like AUDI..
:) It is very nice, together, solid vehicle.

Watch Transporter 2. It is absurd movie, but it's a nice car. I also like Pegout, we don't have them here in US.

You don't have? btw, spelt peugeot :p
I think all audis look all the same - pretty characterless, like an iron. But then most modern cars look the same. Like the 2008 Liberty and the commander.

then we wouldn't have any american cars around. US manufacturers already whine to mister bush about "unfair" competition, so I doubt we will see any.

PLus the "emissions" myth that's going on (only to control which cars go where...) no cars from outside coming in... what a lie, that emission is. If you could see the cars with dark smoke on their tail, you would understand what I mean.

=======================================

Jeep (DCX) is part German since 1998. Actually they control it.

Right now to get a truely "American" vehicle your choices are GM or Ford.

Most of the parts for those are coming from various countries, there has not been a true American car since the late 60s I'd assume. Most of the electrical equipment is made in China, most of the metal/frame/parts are made in India, and Robots that build the cars are made in Japan. So it's hard to say that you can find a True American car anymore.

On the other hand Toyota is planning to be the next American brand by opening plants and increase production in USA. It was in the news.

Here is a weird article:

Im fairly sure all the KJ, are made in the states. And I think I read somewhere that all the CRD's were built at the Toledo Ohio assembly plant.

The engine is built in Italy.
