UPDATE:
Just finished flushing the heater core. Using a garden hose at low pressure at first, flow was easy and immediate. Had a few small chunks of what looked like brown pocket lint come out right away, then nothing but clear water. Left hose connected and flushed for about 10 minutes in both directions.
Have KK running now to bleed, and I now have considerable heat in the cabin! Thank you all for your input through this process - I truly appreciate it!
