Correct blend door actuator?

Had autozone order me one, and this is the one they ordered:

Clearly is not the blend door actuator, but I am wondering... Is this actually an actuator that goes on a different part of my AC?

I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty, 4wd v6 / 3.7

My ac is hot when i put on cold, and cold when I put on hot.. any advice would help!

Does the part you took off have oem the part number on it?
Possibly with the correct mopar part#/ description it may then help to cross over to an after market IDK..

Thanks for the parts manual! I did not see any other electronic blend door actuator on the jeep, so I am guessing they have their listing incorrect. Funny the guy was even trying to tell me that it controls a different blend door and that it does go on my jeep, but he also said he had no experience in repairing an HVAC system on a car.

The electric blend door actuator can be found with a photo in section 24-20 in the 2003 FSM.

Second link in post (one you pulled off the Jeep) Dorman unit # 604-050 looks like it's the right aftermarket one to try,
Otherwise you have the Mopar fiche to get an OEM one...

I plugged in my old actuator and ran it uninstalled so I could see how it was turning, and it would just turn constantly in one direction, then if I switch tempurature, it would turn the other direction, without stopping. So my actuator was definitely bad, but unfortunately it seems that the bad one may have damaged the actual blend doors as well.

Sounds like the actuator may be working correctly. Mine would only run in one direction and stutter and stop in the other. If yours worked smooth in both directions (switching polarity) when off the door post then more likely the blend doors are binding. I thought the blend switch sets the limits so maybe the switch is bad or the calibration is off if it just kept running using the switch?

The actuator was bad but the blend doors were also jammed up so I pulled the entire hvac system out and lubed the joints of the blend doors and cleaned it all out and replaced the actuator. Everything works properly now! I just need to figure out what part of my AC needs fixed to get the temp cold XD

If the blend door actuator just runs and runs in either direction then the internal plastic gears are stripped and the actuator can't physically move the blend doors... As for "doorman" parts... stay as far away from them as you can... It is not worth doing all the work of tearing the dash apart and reassembling to find this crappy part costs $40~$80 less than an OEM replacement... Been there and done that on a large Ford "doorman" blend door replacement...
