I hope this post will help anyone who is considering the Cragar 397's in 16x7 with 4" backspace on stock suspension. I have an '03 Libby that I bought used a couple of monthes ago and I really wanted to change the tire and wheel setup as the Jeep came with 215/75/16's and that just wasn't enough (In my opinion) to make it look right. My concern was tire rub with the 4" backspace which would stick it out 1.5" over stock. After a lot of measuring and looking at tire size charts I finally decided on 225/70/16's in the BF Goodrich AT-KO.
I wanted this tire because I've used them in the past on many different vehicles and I'm sold on the look and perfrmance, also because of tread design which kind of goes straight up into the side wall, they just seem to look larger and more "Bold" than other tires.
After a test fit I saw that they just "Kissed" the fog light door in the front and the pinch weld in the rear, so I figured I'd have to do some trimming, but much to my surprise after driving around all weekend, I couldn't get them to rub once. I'm sure if I went off road they would, but for the street they are fine. I would say this is the largest tire you can fit with these wheels on stock suspension without rubbing, at least on 03 & up.
I went through Quadratec for the wheels, caps and lug nuts for a total price (With shipping) of $293.00 and I used the Tire Rack (With shipping) for a total price of $529.00 for the tires.
