Hello everyone,
I hope this post will help anyone who is considering the Cragar 397's in 16x7 with 4" backspace on stock suspension. I have an '03 Libby that I bought used a couple of monthes ago and I really wanted to change the tire and wheel setup as the Jeep came with 215/75/16's and that just wasn't enough (In my opinion) to make it look right. My concern was tire rub with the 4" backspace which would stick it out 1.5" over stock. After a lot of measuring and looking at tire size charts I finally decided on 225/70/16's in the BF Goodrich AT-KO.
I wanted this tire because I've used them in the past on many different vehicles and I'm sold on the look and perfrmance, also because of tread design which kind of goes straight up into the side wall, they just seem to look larger and more "Bold" than other tires.
After a test fit I saw that they just "Kissed" the fog light door in the front and the pinch weld in the rear, so I figured I'd have to do some trimming, but much to my surprise after driving around all weekend, I couldn't get them to rub once. I'm sure if I went off road they would, but for the street they are fine. I would say this is the largest tire you can fit with these wheels on stock suspension without rubbing, at least on 03 & up.
I went through Quadratec for the wheels, caps and lug nuts for a total price (With shipping) of $293.00 and I used the Tire Rack (With shipping) for a total price of $529.00 for the tires. Please follow the link to see the pix of finished product. I hope this might answer some questions for some of you.

Nice job! The wheels and tires look great! (Cheers)

So those wheels have 4' of backspacing you went with? The stock 16x7's on my KJ have 6". I am thinking about moving the wheels from my TJ to my KJ. The TJ wheels have 5.5" of bs, and so it moved the tires a half inch out. I did a test fit awhile ago and it looked really good.

P.S. Nice Broncos tire cover, too!

Looks awsome! Those tires look bigger than 255/70/16's though?

What kind of lugs did you get? Got any pics of them? O:)

Thanks for the kind words, now as for the Steelers tire cover [-X Since they are the team that beat us last year in the AFC Championship game and ended our hopes of another Super Bowl, I think the wife would divorce me if I put that on the back of the Jeep...LOL (Nice job on the photo shop though)
Anyways, the tires are actually 225/70/16 not 255 as someone had posted, and I agree that they do look larger than that. I think it's because of the 4" backspacing on the wheels which puts it 1.5" farther out than stock and the tread design of the BFG's, they just look aggressive.
For the lug nuts I just bought them from Quadratec when I was buying the wheels (First item on page 1 of the wheel accessories) American Racing 1/2" thread chrome closed bulge acorn lug nut for 1.49 each. They fit just fine.

pics2.gif Any pics of them at full turn. I was thinking of this same setup and just wanted to see where how close they are to the pinch weld and foglight doors. Thanks
