If it didn't come with it will it have the necessary goodies under the hood? Or is 2006 drive by wire? I'm always forgetting when it switched.Just add the switches to the steering wheel. All the wiring is there. Plug an play
Yes all items with be there. Get the switches an it will work.If it didn't come with it will it have the necessary goodies under the hood? Or is 2006 drive by wire? I'm always forgetting when it switched.
2005 was drive by wire. I have the pedal for sale in ebay. I believe 2004 an down wasn't, as my 2002 required the switches, the actuator, and a new clock spring.2007 should be the first year for drive by wire.
Your good to go. Just get the switches an screw them in.If it didn't come with it will it have the necessary goodies under the hood? Or is 2006 drive by wire? I'm always forgetting when it switched.
Thanks, just learned something. I thought 2007 had the first electronically controlled throttle body, which then carried over to the 08 KK. Thanks for the updated info.2005 was drive by wire. CRD must be different, my 2005 is cable TB.2005 was drive by wire. I have the pedal for sale in ebay. I believe 2004 an down wasn't, as my 2002 required the switches, the actuator, and a new clock spring.
Very likely. They had carried the 3.7l through many years before any updates.CRD must be different, my 2005 is cable TB.
Just read 2002-06 was still cable driven in the 3.7L. So if you have a gasser you'll need the actuator for those years. If it's the CRD then it's drive by wire. That's what I was assuming fjt226 was talking about having. Even still with the gassers it's still an easy upgrade. Switches, actuator, an possible clock spring (I know in my '02 gasser I needed a clock spring). Can all be done on ebay for well under $100, dare I say even under $60. But good info to share for others. Thank you for bringing up the gassers I was totally focused on the diesel.CRD must be different, my 2005 is cable TB.
You suggest adding the switches to the steering wheel. I see no blank spaces in which to use to do this. Is there a different steering wheel face that must be replaced as well? Also, I checked with Jeep and they said that the parts are no longer available from them.Just add the switches to the steering wheel. All the wiring is there. Plug an play
What you have now are blanks in there. When you pop off the airbag you'll see each side where the switch goes is a cover held by a small screw. The new switch takes place of the blanks that are there now. Search ebay for the switches, that's the cheapest route to go.You suggest adding the switches to the steering wheel. If you can post a picture of yours. The picture of the steering wheel that you show is not like the one in my vehicle. My steering wheel does not have those switches, or blank covers at all. So do I have to get a new steering wheel as well? And thanks for the help.
