I recently purchased a 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade. When I bought it it had 62,800 miles on it however now it has about 65,300. It rides very rough and I find myself bouncing a lot. I thought this was a normal Jeep ride but I hear people saying there's rides like a sports car. My Jeep sits 19.5 in the back and 19 in in the front from center of wheel to fender. I also would like a lift however will be honest in saying that I am a college kid and can't justify spending 1200 on a lift. No, I will not do a spacer kit. Is there anything I can do to have a smoother ride but also get a little lift? Is this possible or am I dreaming? TIA

With out replacing shocks. Not really. Are you running more than 33 psi in your tires. If so lower it to soften the ride. As far as lift. Find a low mileage KK Liberty that is 4wd. Their shock assembly is the same as ours. With the exception of the clevis. It's 3/8 longer which translates into 3/4 inch lift. Then you can do up to a half inch clevis lift for an additional inch . The rears you can put 2 extra isolator pads on top of the rear springs for an inch lift in the rear.

Also worn suspension bushings will cause a hard Ride. Look for cracks in the rubbers bushings.

I have an OME lift and my ride is rough and bouncy so not much different than you
You'll probably have to spend some hefty money to get it to "ride like a sports car" for example the JBA full coilover lift kit which is expensive
I recently have been getting pretty tired of the ride to be honest, I've been looking at nice cars for the ride, looks and most of all because I drive a lot, my back kills me from the KJ
The seats are terrible and I bounce everywhere going over bumps I feel like I'm on a Pogo Stick all day
BUT, this is my experience with these things.. other people have their own stories to tell
Back to your question, no there isn't a way to get a nice ride with a KJ unless you spend some money

I think it really depends what your expectations are.

You can check the specs in my sig. It's got stock coils on all 4 corners, load-assist shocks on the rear, and load E tires with suitably low tire pressure for on-road use. She and I both agree it rides and handles nicely.

Take a ride in a wrangler and then see how well they ride. When I rode in one the ride was so bad, I thought I was going to hit my head on the roof. One you find good shocks and the proper spring rate, combined with proper tire pressure your jeep can handle and ride like a dream.

What kind of air pressure are you running in your tires. And are the P or Lt rated?

LTs and about 32-33 psi at the moment, usually closer to 35

Lt tire will ride rougher than a p rated tire. 33 is usually to much for Lt tires on a kj. Lt tires are made for vehicle's that weight more than our 4000 pound kj. Just 2 LT tires alone are enough to carry our kjs weight. On mine with Lt tires I run 25 psi. I did the chalk test to determine that pressure. It also was close to what BF Goodwrench said they should be when I gave them the front and back axel weights.
Here is a link to how to do the test.

It rode rough before I even got my bigger tires so I'm not too worried about psi in them, it's the suspension itself that is too springy

First for everything, never heard that before. I always heard from ones we've done was " why didn't I do this a long time ago, it's so much better now "

Every bump I go over makes me feel like I'm on one of those animals with the spring attached to the bottom at a park.. know what I mean? Rocking forward and back
It's the most annoying thing ever and it's getting old
