Darn locking nut!

If someone has a picture of their stock (for '07?) locking lut on the spare, I'd appreciate it. The key for ours has gone AWOL.

im probably missing something but why dont u just put the wheel lock back on the spare tire. if you dont have the key just put it on finger tight. thats what i did

Well, I did a bit of searching on here before posting that and suspected it's not a stock locking lug. It's 7 equally spaced splines and it's the only one on the vehicle. I didn't care to waste time chasing parts at the dealer which aren't Mopar / McGard.

thats not stock. i see that type in autozone or advance auto parts stores. your best bet to take that off is to find a wheel lock removal kit or get some needle nose vise grip pliers and twist it off and then put it on finger tight.

Looks like a gorilla grip lock. Maybe. Look around in the jeep you might have paperwork for it and either jeep or whoever can order you a new one. Sorry.

You can always take it to a tire shop and they got the removers that will get them off, which destroys them at the same time. Then either get a new set of lock nuts, like McGard that comes with a sticker your supposed to put on the glove box that has a number on it which you can use to reorder a new locking nut if you loose yours... or you can just replace them with regular lugs. I don't recommend driving around with lugnuts that are finger tight, altho one probably isn't bad.

Thank you for confirming my suspicion it wasn't a stock one.

I think I'll measure it tonight and order a matching key w/ 4 more so I have 5 total.

Yeah that is a Gorrilla nut,go to any discount tires and pic up the socket for those,like $10 and fit all of them as there not a keyed-different nut.I have one of those sockets in my toolbox for idiots that don't have one and I need to remove there wheel(s) for repair work.
