I think several people on here and LOST have those on their rigs. I personally do not though.

The KJ backbone looks realy good, I am saving up to have one shipped over to the UK. Also just to add they answered back very quickly when I emailed them and that is a promissing thing as I am not in the US or Canada.

It does not only look good, it's a strong system that is relatively easy to install and keeps the "standard" look of the KJ.

Here's mine on an '05:

Yup!
We've got one on ours with a 9500 lbs. winch.
Mark makes a really excellent product.

Here's a shot of it in action.

And one where we're being yanked out.

if i were going to permanently mount a winch on my jeep this would be my choice. problem is I don't want to be carrying around a winch 24/7.

Ry': no idea why your post isn't in here (since I got an email with it) but yes I agree, the front receiver mount point is too low for the Curt front receiver. I'd had a couple ideas and am working on some designs that locate front receiver opening up at the level of the license plate. while it wouldn't be as high as the backbone it would definitely be alot higher than the normal spot. I'd even have it behind the plate so when you don't need it it's covered and nicely hidden by the plate.

Ya, good point, it's gone!
I posted that message using our iPhone and it showed up fine there!
Oh well, it was meant for you to see anyway!

Check out this link below. Rather pricey as I've seen 'em locally for $15.00!

yea I was going to do something like that if needed.
I have to button up a couple other projects first, then I'll get on my super mega plow/hitch/winch combo bracket thingy. I'm just dying to use my welder some more! :D

do post up pics of that.

also, go hunt down the install instructions and drawings for the Western plow for the liberty. might give you some ideas. the way they do a triangulation to help deal with the forces involved is neat.

so I just to had to stand up a tree again. this putting the winch in and out of the receiver is getting annoying... especially since I have to remove the spare tire every time.

telling you this... if I have to use it again before the end of the year, I'm buying the backbone, mounting this 12k# winch up front, and buying another winch (6000# probably) to put on my bracket and use on the trailer.
