I was down at my mechanics today and we got talking about a light bar for the front bumper of the Libby. Next thing I knew we had this made up!

Here's what it will look like on the Libby.

A little paint and a couple of lights, I think it will work :D

I also decided to redo my pinstripping. Here's what I came up with:

Really like the lightbar. Looks heavy.

It's not as heavy as it looks. It's made from 1 3/4" tailpipe stock. I didn't want anything to heavy since I'm mounting it on the stock bumper.

Here it is painted semi-gloss, black:

I plan on mounting it Thursday (If the weather gives me a break!)

Thanks! That's how I'm planning on mounting it, the problem is, I took off the front already and mounted my tow hooks to the frame and also mounted my fogs to the frame, now I have to take it all apart and do it all over again!

I Been digging through all my auto parts crap and found my very firs "light bar" that I built for my mini... Well wouldn't you know it? It'll work real well for the lib. Hold 4, 7 inch round lights or 4 7 inch rectangular lamps, or a combination of both. Why waste it and start all over, this thing has rich history. (After all the KJ is gonna be pullin my mini around anyway)
I'll post pics when this web site is back to normal and works when you click on it.
I'll be cutting a check to bennitt so he can fire this puppy up big time.

Can't wait to see it Socks! I seen one something like this on a Cherokee and I've wanted one ever since. Just wish I had a bender and a mig and I could make all sorts of thing that are floating around in my head!

First it's back to the mystery of the dead drivers side daytime running light.
I had it working and now it F@#$D again.

By the way, if you look at that stainless steel brush bar on my mini... I built that one over twenty years. What it cost in miss bent tubing wasn't funny! I could bought 3 out of the UK for what it cost me to build one! Me happy! It is all mine, nobody can ever take that away from me. I need a new tube bender, this old thing was already 35 years old when I bought it in 1984! I taught myself (with a lot of help from my father-retired aerospace machinist) machining to make all new bushings and little things just to get the bender to work ok

Man does that thing look great!!!! I am really going to have to examine my '07 and see if there's an asthetically pleasing method of doing that. The '02-'04 front bumper was designed perfectly for it.

I think on an '05+ you'd end up blocking the factory fogs, which I would like to keep functional.

I've actually been kicking around the idea of procuring a stock '05+ bumper and hacking out the middle section to put in a steel center, like the Cherokees had. It'd be easy to mount things, and save a ton of weight over having the corners all steel. There are only a few steel bumpers that I actually like how the parking lights are integrated, and those are the $$$$ and very heavy ones.

Thanks Atrus! I've never really looked to close at the 05+ bumpers, but from what I see in your avatar, it does look like it would block the fogs. I know what you mean on the crazy cost of the metal bumpers, I like them, but not that much!
