No I did not get an answer and I really did not expect one. I picked up the oil at Wally World, $21 for 5 qts Mobil 1 full syn, and the only filters they carry are FRAM ($3.50). So I said what the hey and went for it. I will sleep fine tonight knowing I have a sub standard filter on my Jeep.
Ahh, its all good.

There's really nothing wrong with a Fram filter.

Better than a K&N.

A serious answer -> I am not a fan of Fram filters but even I wouldn't run out there and replace it with something else. In prior threads concerning oil filters there were no consensus. Some people reported very good results using Fram filters. There were some very good oil filter names mentioned in the thread you started if you want to use something other than Fram next time. I have mounds of info on this including some dissected filters but it is outdated so I prefer not to go that route anymore. Purolator was highly rated in flow, filtering ability, and build quality at the time. I started using them and have no reason to stop.

BTW, excellent choice of oil.

It doesn't matter if you filter by an inch or a micron. Filtering is filtering.

I gave you the benefit of the doubt that you were not trolling on the flter and provided a real world experience with fram filters. If you were looking for a definitive answer by asking for opinions from laypersons, knowing you did not expect an answer.....

Unless your wallyworld is diffferent and really only carries one brand of oil filter (maybe they are a very small walmart), you can get a good motorcraft filter for a 3.7L KJ for about 50 cents more than the fram.

I just use the filter from the vacuum. Oil gets alittle dusty, but it is a hepa filter so you know its good

Are the K&N filters really not good? Damn, I'm on my 2nd change now with them and REALLY like the 1" socket on the end to remove them. They are a bit more expensive too...

Not trying to start a debate, but can anybody provide bad reviews or links on these?

I thought I had found an awesome filter to use, cause honestly I ALWAYS struggle removing a FRAM. I put them on hand tight and then about an extra 1/4-1/2 a turn...
