Oh I'm sure it will be, I have not even bothered to dig much deeper other than removing the pan I hope Iit just part of the valve body and not any thing deeper than that. I can't complain to much I got my moneys worth out of it before it died I have put 10 k on her since I got it together. I got my 500 dollars out of it to say the least be nice if it wouldn't be a nightmare to drop a Alison 1000 in it and delete the valve body issues .but I f I had everything setting there to do it I still couldn't get it done ATM.

Get the transmission codes read by a transmission shop & post back any codes.
Is your transmission a 42RLE ?

It's a 545rfe and there were a few codes but I don't recall the exact codes communication error , hydrologic failure on shifting to third speed calibration. And a couple other codes related to the valve body and electronic side of things. I will have to pull them up when I get back to the jeep.

Well I have found a 545 rfe from a 2006 1500 with a blown 5.7 hemi in it transmission is still working.
My curiosity does anybody know how much trouble I'm going to have converting it over to run behind this 2.8 l crd?
Plan is to change out the valve body since the valve body on this one still good I was to swap them out.
Or is that even necessary or will it be compatible as far as function with the wrong shift timing and patterns .

I think you should be fine to swap in the transmission for the Dodge. Is the Dodge a 4WD or 2WD truck, you will have to move over the transfer case adapter if it is a 2WD. Given the TCM takes care of all the shifting there should be no issues with that.

Yes I will have to swap the tail housings because it is 2wd ram. I'm hoping the out put shaft is the same spline and diameter. I know the clutches are a heavier set up and the value bodie is supposed to be better. But that's just what I read on it I couldn't swear to it. But the generalized idea behind an assembly line to me is it'd be all the same parts on everything from front to back top to bottom inside and out. Why make it any different for a lighter application and give yourself a chance to screw up and put it in a Dodge pickup why not just build them all the exact same and run with it. Why take the chances of mistakes being made that way but I could be wrong. I have seen way dumb things in my life

The diesel torque converter is different, reuse your old one of get an uprated one. I drool over the heavy duty ones available in America but shipping and import tax is insane, if I could get my hands on one I could chip it for loads more power.

I'm under the impression that someone has tuned this one at some point considering the transfer case was destroyed when I got it and now it has busted the planetary gear housing and it will run 130 down the highway. And going by the flow rates of air and other computer parameters it equals 210 HP but I will have to Dyno it to find out for sure. And that's with low boost. I'm sure it won't be long and I'll be hunting down a turbo. Since the best psi is will push is 16 psi. .

I'll have to wait to start up grading ATM this was unexpected and before it happened I spent $3000.00 renting two 26 foot box trucks and filling with gas to move. And my check was a couple thousand short. This week and I purchased an 06 ram with a bad engine for the transmission. So after the uncorking of my account it pretty well drained my funds. And I still have 5 days to get my next check as long as I can get it rolling to go back to work. Then I can start the rebuilding on the core I'll have. And upgrade then so I have one on hand to toss back in next month. Or the next mishap

If you switch or rebuild your transmission I believe you will need to do re-learn on the PCM to reset the CVIs (Clutch volume index). I just went through this with my 42RLE rebuild and it isn't difficult with a good scanner.
Also if the the torque converter is different have good look at the input shaft and stator support to make sure they are the same. I know what you are saying about the assembly line philosophy but Ive seen lots things that should be the same, that are close, but not quite the same.

That's no surprise honestly when it comes to cutting cost and selling to the public make it look the same and name it the same but down grade the inner workings of it and sell it at the same price. Because the general population will never make it any further than the drivers seat and dropping it off to be repaired and never realize they were sold and **** in gold flake paper that looks the same but fails to function the same.

I can't say that I have ever seen a planetary housing come apart like this one has im curious what caused it to erupt in such a matter with out making it known there is a serious problem. I know on a manual transmission behind a Cummins diesel when you twist the input shaft off and take teeth off third gear it makes a hell of a racket Man it looks like a bomb explodes in the floorboard when it jumps and unloads and all the dust that was down there comes up in the cab. But this thing come apart and I didn't even know it other than it had a little bit of a clicking sound and I just assumed it was something to do with the court torque converter and the lockup solenoid because it didn't want to disengage occasionally. And I just assumed it was something to do with a little bit of water getting down to dipstick hole and getting in the solenoid and making it stick because once you turn it off and started it again it wasn't an issue anymore. And even the clicking noise stopped. And it never really went into limp mode because you could put it in drive take off and go from first to second and then it was like you kicked it into neutral until you pulled it back into second and then it would take off again. The oil never smelt burnt it just stopped shifting. But in a manner this thing come apart it looks like it had a $4,000 RPM stall converter in it and line lock. And it may be a lunch a little bit too hard. But it never acted like that because you know when that incident happens
