Hey guys i was out in the woods recently on a club run and wadded through some water, the water was up to the bottom of my headlights in some spots. After i got home and shut the jeep down i noticed that the jeep turned the radio on with the key out and the ignition in the off position. So i started it took it out of park and put it back in park took the key out and same thing, also my wheel lock doesn't seem to be working, anything you guys could think of ? I would deeply appreciate !

What do you mean by wheel lock?

I did a couple crossings over summer that were up to the headlights no issues.

Were you sitting in water for a while or just crossing through it? although it was deep i was only in it for 15 seconds or so myself.

Is it possible you have a hole unplugged in your firewall? Its very weird the radio is affected have you checked /air blasted the relay box?

I mean the steering wheel lock up when the jeep is off, i was just driving through it no stopping my battery light came on, but went away after i shut it down and started it back up upon inspection. I haven't checked the relay box, and do you mean like a cable unplugged at the firewall ? like a ground ?

Justin, In your signature line could you please add/include the year of your jeep.
On many of our KJ Jeeps the steering wheel does not lock until the wheel is in the upside down position.

It may be that the water crossing is not that problem, the ignition switch may be botched.
Is your wheel locking in any position now? Is it difficult to remove the key?
I assume you have no release button around the key switch.

You may just need a new ignition switch. It is now big deal to replace maybe a 2 or 3 minute job once you have the correct part and tools.
