Fender flare differences?

Guys, Ive been looking all over the net for the answer to this question and cannot find it anywhere. What is the difference between the kjs with and without the riveted looking fender flares? Mine is an 02 sport, and its got standard flares. But, Ive seen other KJs with flares that appear to be bolted on. Id love to swap to those, but I dont know what Im looking for. Every search I do gives me aftermarket flares that are more for lifted kjs.

Can anyone provide insight?

You would need flares from a 2004 Renegade which should directly rivet right in place to your '02.
Other than the fake socket head bolts they are the same.

02-04 Renegade will work.

AH! Thanks yall. 02-04 renegade it is then... sure doe love how those fender flares look. By chance, do you guys know how much they run? Also, are they rivet or bolt on?

They rivet on like all the other factory fender flares.
As far as the cost, check a local pick a part.

They go on with clips just like any other KJ flare
the rivits are just cosmetic they do nothing except look like they do
Took me about 2 years to find rears in a junk yard already had the fronts

Ive gone to 2 of the 3 yards we have here and havent found a single kj. TONS of xjs, but no kjs...

Just remember if you switch out the flares to the renegade version you may have to paint them. 02-04 where painted. 05-07 were not.

I say "may" have to paint them because the flares on the 02-04 renegade where painted to match the body paint. However, the 02-04 renegade flares also came on the Freedom editions I believe and they where painted a gray color similar to the stock flares.
