I took these at a boat dock. The lake if completely frozen over.

Getting around that boat ramp in the snow was the scariest thing Ive ever done. I was within ten feet of it and I felt uncomfortable. I kept seeing myself sliding and not being able to stop before I started over the ramp.. ](*,)

Anyway, here are the pics.

We probably got around 1-2in of the stuff. It was slick as crap too. I guess it had some ice under it b/c I sure could lock it up and slide fairly easy. \:D/

Lucky bastard......looks like you got about an inch or two?

We've had about two inches this year....didn't stick around on the roads long enough to have much fun....just a slushy mess.

I swear people are stupid. We (the midwest group on Lost) was driving up the interstate today and it was snowing fairly hard. 3 Jeeps had already went home, so I would say there was 5 of is caravaning up the interstate. The road was covered for the most part and people were flying by us. Some of them had to be doing 65mph.. We were doing 40-45mph and you would think that those ignorant people would see a caravan of JEEPS going SLOW. Maybe that means they should slow down?!?!?!

I know what you mean. Looks like about 1/4-1/2" to me also, unless more came latter on.

Looks good. Did LOST Midwest actually do any offroading, or just go out for a drive in the snow? I can't get anyone from LOST NE to go out in the snow ](*,) . We got alot of snow here, but yours was probally slicker with the sleet and other nastiness undernieth. Good to hear that you didn't go into the drink at the boat dock =D> .

when you took the pix you did not select correct white balance setting so they came out reddish, he just edited and color-corrected one of your shot to be white. :)

Holy you know what!!! That's alota tire!

By un-whitebalanced I meant that your colors were all crazy, because it would appear that you were shooting with your white balance set to Fluorescent and were photographing something illuminated by incandescent light...or vice versa...your pictures are all yellow, which means your white balance was off. Things that should be white (the snow) are yellow, either that or someone REALLY needed to go kopkrab.gif .

Ok, these are both the same picture, I altered one in Aperture with the white balance adjuster to demonstrate.
This one is the original- totally unmodified, true color as it was captured (proper white balance)

Same photo, with the temperature on the white balance turned WAAY up(hotter than the original by about 3000*K)

And the same photo with the WB turned all the way down (colder than the original by about 6000*K)

See the difference? It's nothing against you or your camera, it's just a small mistake that everyone makes from time to time. Actually, it looks to me like you were shooting under those god awful orange streetlights ](*,) I hate those things... If none of this makes sense, check this article out, it explains in much better detail than I ever could.
http://www.photo.net/learn/making-photographs/light

about half way down he goes into white balance discussion, the rest is just interesting discussion of light.

Hope I didn't offend you at all, I didn't mean to :-s .
