Dont know about factory installed fogs, but with the mopar add-on kit, you can run the wire that would normally attach to the low beam light to the parking light instead. I have NO idea what this would do if the fogs were factory installed.

Be careful if you decide to pursue this, as having your foglights on with the high beams is illegal in many (most/all?) states.

I have searched the entire internet for this mod and could find nothing. It looks like a few others tried it also. From the info i could find it is controled through the BCM. I think rewiring is the only way. I'm just gonna add some hella 500's to bumper. It'll be cheaper, brighter and less aggrivaiton.

here we go again. :)

There are a few tricks like bending plugs and swapping fuses and taping relays and other stuff, but non of them is universal to solve all models of KJs, and some of them pose fire hazard because of built up heat.

I think it was easier to do with a bent or broken off plug tooth in 02, I think I read it and saw pix at jeepforum.com but since you cannot search there, good luck finding it.

Yes there is a way.

Just buy some hellas and mount them to the bumper. O:)

That's what I did too. Now the fogs aren't an issue.

i like to flash my rooflgihts on at people when they have their brights on. but sometimes i think they are brights when they arent, oooops! lol. but when i see foglights on, i know that their brights ARENT on, and figure their headlights are just really bright lowbeams... or out of adjustment

is it just me, or do a lot of the new cadilacs and acuras and all new high end cars with HID's seem really bright until they get close? i flashed my rooflights at a new cadillac one night because i thought their brights were on....and then they flashed their brights at me, i was like oh shit, oops haha :)

Careful - I got pulled over by a cop once who was coming at me, I thought he had high beams, not knowing it was a cop, so I flashed. He flashed the blue and reds! OOPS! Got off with a warning but I learned that flashing at oncoming is not legal, at least here.

why not pull the -hey I thought you were richy from down the block.. wanted to say hi! on him? heheh

I also HATE those people with high beams on or with those stupid beams standing right back of me. Simply i will move my mirror and solved.. that's another reason I am looking to get driver windows tinted. We had an old grand cherokee that had auto tinting side mirrors, they were great.

Hmm - I could do with those...

Not much point flipping the rear-view mirror when you still get blinded by the side mirrors... ](*,)

oh i got pulled over before cuz of them lol.i had em on, and saw a car comin over a hill, so i turned em off as soon as i saw the car, ended up being a cop. he passed me turns his lights on and did a uturn and pulled me over and gave ame a verbal warning that they arent legal for street use haha. i guess thats how jeep gets away with the lights being legal on the vehicle as the book says for offroad use only and comes with the black covers lol

Well i've been searching around again looking for this mod and here is all i could come up with. I just did the 9005 fog light bulb mod and what a difference! If only i can get them to stay on with the high beams. I'll check the factory wiring to see if i can figure out and easy way to wire it. If not i guess i'll be the guinea pig and order this kit. #-o

Yeah it's cheap but i was looking at the install for other vehicles. It looks as if it just jumps the power wire from the fogs to the high beams. Set up that way and you have no conrol over the fogs to turn them on or off.

Here is the set up found for wranglers about bending the prong for the fog relay. It wont work with the liberty because the fogs are controled through the bcm.

http://www.getahelmet.com/jeeps/tech/fogrelay/

I've got the schematics for the factory wiring. I have to wait till i go to work tomorrow to talk with co-worker who can wire anything. It appears you just have to bypass the bcm that way it doesn't de-energize the fog relay when the high beams are put on. I want to be sure that the fog indicator on the dash still functions properly and i want to be able to turn the fogs on and off with the factory stalk switch. I may be pushing my luck, but i'm **** when it comes to stuff like this. I dont want to hack it completely [-o< I'll keep you guys posted. I've been waiting over a year for someone else to figure this out. 8-[

Yeah I read about that, it just sort of links itself, so it turns on and off with the headlights.

Good luck, we've been waiting for an easy solution for a while as well, but some given up and just added extra set of driving lights.. :)

When you do the install put a relay in the system and run pwer through a fuse to the battery. That way your only using a slight bit more power to activate the relay and pulling the power from a different source with the correct wiring size for the additional current draw. Most aftermarket lights have install kits that give you all the stuff necessary.
